Elevators and Escalators Status

DTPW’s crews and contractors are actively working to ensure that all 184 units within the entire Metrorail and Metromover systems are well maintained and operating. As such, some of the units may be placed temporarily out of service for regular maintenance or minor repairs. 

Additionally, DTPW is working to fast-track escalator repair and replacement projects at four Metromover stations – Adrienne Arsht, Eleventh Street, School Board, and Financial District. Also, the department is working on the modernization of 27 elevator/escalator units at the 5 Metrorail stations – Dadeland South, Dadeland North, Government Center, Civic Center, and Tri-Rail. These major upgrades are long-term projects.
