Every Drop Counts Kids Poster Contest

The 16th Annual Every Drop Counts Children’s Poster Contest has concluded! Check out this year’s winners

Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department invites elementary school students from kindergarten through fifth grade to participate in the 16th annual "Every Drop Counts Children's Poster Contest." The theme for this year is "Water is Life: Let's Conserve It!"

The contest allows elementary school children to showcase their creative talents while learning the importance of water conservation. Thirteen first-place winners, one from each County Commission District, will receive recognition and prizes at a Miami-Dade County Board of County Commission meeting in April 2024. In addition, their artwork is displayed at the Stephen P. Clark Center during Water Conservation Month.

All participants will receive a free t-shirt.

The annual contest is part of Miami-Dade County's Water-Use Efficiency Plan, which features D-Rop, Miami-Dade County's cool water conservation mascot. The Water-Use Efficiency Plan's goal is to educate students by:

Instilling an appreciation of water
Helping them understand the importance of protecting this precious resource
Providing information on how to conserve water

How to Apply and Submit Art Work

The deadline for submittal of the "Water is Life: Let's Conserve It!" posters is Friday, Feb. 2, 2024. The contest is open to Elementary school students grades K-5 within Miami Dade County.

Poster art and T-shirt tracking form can be submitted by United States Postal Service mail, email, Dropbox or Google Drive.

Must include a T-shirt tracking form
The poster art must include a high-quality scan containing all the details outlined in the application
- Scan the poster and save it as a PDF or jpeg file, and name it as follows: full-Name_Grade.pdf or .jpg
- The file must include the poster entry form

Please ensure students save and keep their original poster drawing. We will require the original artwork of the winning posters to frame and display.
