Certified Small Businesses

Firms are certified with Miami-Dade County by the Small Business Development (SBD) Division as:

Small Business Enterprise – Architectural & Engineering
Small Business Enterprise – Construction
Small Business Enterprise – Goods and Services
Local Developing Business
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise

A directory of certified firms with keyword search capability (including business name, certification, commodity code and tier level) can be accessed via Miami-Dade County's Business Management Workforce System.

A complete list of all Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms certified within the state of Florida can be viewed on the website for the Florida Department of Transportation.

To verify a firm's small business enterprise certification or to address any issues or concerns, call SBD's Certification Unit at 305-375-3111 or via email.

On May 7, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance (Reference 24-42). This Ordinance provides amendments to the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) programs, amending sections 2-8.1.1.1.1, 2-8.1.1.1.2, 2-10.4.01 and 10-33.02 of the code of Miami-Dade County; increasing the Personal Net Worth threshold to $3,500,000.00. This Ordinance was effective May 17, 2024.

Due to the legislative changes, your firm may now be eligible to participate in the programs that you may have graduated from. If you meet the above criteria, you are encouraged to reapply for SBE Certification within your respective program. Please access the below link to complete the application:
- Log into https://mdcsbd.gob2g.com/
- Select renew/apply for Certification link under Key Actions
- Select the options that are appropriate for your company
- Answer the eligibility questions
- Preview the document list and press the continue button to the application
- Select “process” to complete each section
- A green arrow will indicate that the section is complete
- The documents that are required will be listed on the document’s checklist of the online application
