This is where it all begins. In consultation with our creative team, we'll figure out what you want to accomplish, and how to get you there. You might come in with a sample of what you have in mind, or something you've published in the past. Or you might come completely empty-handed -- that's okay, too. Our team is well-versed in the latest design software and trends, and we're ready to help your print materials stand above the rest.

But good creative services aren't just about design. In this stage, we'll get to know your whole job. We'll talk about layout and color, but also how many copies you need, any finishing effects you want added, and even how you want your materials to be distributed. Looking ahead helps us anticipate problems -- which means savings for you.

Think of us as your marketing department's best friend. You've got ideas about how best to present your business -- and we've got the equipment and know-how you need to bring your ideas to life. We'll have your project designed, printed, and mailed before you know it.

Pre-press

Whether you provide a print file or our creative team design it for you, the next step is getting your file ready for printing. We'll check for problems with fonts, images, color, layout, file compatibility, and more. And we'll send you proofs digitally or in hard copy, whichever you prefer.

During prepress, we'll also archive your files on our secure hard drives. That way, when it's time to reorder, we'll already have your materials on hand.

We won't stop until you're happy with the way your files look. Once they're proofed to perfection, we'll move on to printing.

The Print Shop and the Copy Center are each uniquely positioned to fulfill all printing demands. We've got high-quality equipment at both locations, and years of proven expertise in both age-old offset techniques and cutting-edge digital methods.

We'll help you decide whether offset or digital printing is best for you. An offset press transfers ink onto paper via high-quality polyester rollers, custom-made for each job. It's a good option for larger jobs, and makes for a beautiful end product. On the other hand, if your budget and your deadline are tight, digital printing may work best.

A cool feature of digital printing is that you can run personalized variable data, great for direct marketing campaigns. Have a job that'll require both offset and digital work? No problem. We've color-profiled the digital press so that colors match, no matter which press we use.

Finishing and Bindery
Your project is hot off the presses but our work is far from done. As the name suggests, this stage is where your pieces get "finished." The Print Shop counts on bindery equipment to turn sheets of printed paper into perfectly folded brochures, bound pamphlets and eye-catching postcards. Our capabilities include folding, cutting, perforating, stitching, and scoring, as well as foil stamping, embossing and die cutting.

We'll share the pros and cons of different binding options, and help you decide which one is the best fit for your job specifications. While we've got smart equipment, there are some pieces that simply can't be finished by machine. In that case, we'll complete your pieces by hand.

Quality control is also an important part of the finishing stage. We'll double-check your whole document, making sure it matches up to your proof, and is ready for you to show it off.

Variable Data Printing

One topic that may come up in your consultation with us is variable data printing, and we know it inside and out, because we've been doing it for years. We've got full in-house capabilities for multivariable personalization, and the creative expertise to help you determine the best way to make your target audience take notice.

Personalization means a greater return on investment for you. In an age where consumers are saturated with advertising messages from all channels, messages that resonate on a personal level are the ones that stand out. However you measure success, you'll see the difference that a personal touch can make.

Mailing Services

Once your documents are printed and bound, we know you'll want them in your customers' hands without delay. We also know that you're busy doing your job, and you may not have time to deal with complicated postal service regulations.

Mailing services are another way that the Print Shop and Copy Center has you covered, start to finish. We'll take your mailing list and perform regular address cleanup, standardization, and duplicate removal pursuant to the latest National Change of Address data. This achieves fewer returned letters, savings on postage, and most importantly, increased response rates for you.

We've partnered with a mailing services provider and are pleased to offer inkjet addressing, automated letter inserting, tab sealing, barcoded postage application and mail merge capabilities. Our highly automated processes mean that mailings reach customers in record time. They are also a Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS)-certified mailing service provider, the most stringent certification in the business. What that means for you is bulk discounts on postage and near-perfect delivery rates.

We also offer e-certified and e-return receipt mailing services through USPS that provide security and fulfill statutory-necessary signature requirements. Just think of how much time and resources you'll save if staff no longer has to fill out those green cards and file returned receipts!

Once mailed, the print cycle is complete. But that doesn't mean our work together has to end. When you're ready for reprints, Impress, our online ordering system, makes reordering easy.
