Chief Bay Officer

The Chief Bay Officer (CBO) acts as an advisor to the Miami-Dade County Mayor and the Board of County Commissioners and serves as a liaison between County departments and boards, external agencies, stakeholder groups, and local, state, and federal governments on water quality issues, policies and appropriations related to the health and recovery of Biscayne Bay.

The CBO’s priority is to move forward on projects in areas that show the highest levels of nutrient pollution:

• Septic to sewer conversion
• Wastewater and stormwater improvements
• Restoration of coastal habitats
• Improve public education on the importance of restoring Biscayne Bay and report on progress
