Introduction to the Mobility Event Viewer

The Mobility Event Viewer is a utility you can use to view events. You can configure the Event Viewer to record events for a variety of severity levels; you can also filter events in the Event Viewer window.

By default, events from all Mobility event sources are logged to a file in the Windows folder (nmevent.nel). You can choose to record Mobility events in the Mobility event log, the operating system application log, or both.

To select a logging utility

1.	Go to Start > Mobility Event Viewer.

2.	On the File menu, click Log Settings.

•	To record Mobility events in the operating system application log, select the Use Windows application log check box. The Windows application log does not record Mobility debug events. To record debug events, select Use Mobility log.

•	To record Mobility events in the Mobility event log, select the Use Mobility log check box.
