Mobility Interface List

The information displayed in this dialog box is provided by DHCP for the selected interface. It may not reflect actual values for the current connection. Most of the fields only have values to display if the Mobility client is using DHCP to acquire its point of presence address.

You can review the following information:

Interface Name

The network interface to which the currently displayed information pertains. You can select the interface you want to display information about.

Note: The NetMotion Virtual Network Adapter that appears in the Interface list is a virtual adapter that is installed by Mobility; it is also shown in Network Connections section of Control Panel. Disabling, uninstalling, or otherwise changing this adapter may prevent Mobility from functioning correctly.

Connection Name

The name that appears for this connection in the Name column of the Windows Network Connections dialog box.

Adapter DNS Suffix

The DNS suffix, or the domain name, associated with the selected interface.

Adapter DNS Servers

The IP address of the DNS server associated with the selected interface.

IP Address

The point of presence address of the Mobility client device.

Default Gateway

The gateway IP address returned by DHCP.

WINS Servers

The WINS server IP address returned by DHCP.

DNS Servers

The DNS server IP address returned by DHCP.

Physical Address

The MAC address of the network adapter.

DHCP Server

The IP address of the DHCP server that provided the Mobility client device's current point of presence address.

Speed

The connection speed of the selected network interface, and whether the reported speed is overridden by an applied client policy.

Link State

The connection status of the selected interface, and whether an applied client policy hides the interface from Mobility.

Wireless AP SSID

The service set identifier, or network name, of the wireless network to which the Mobility client is connected.

Wireless AP BSSID

The basic service set identifier, or MAC address of the wireless access point to which the Mobility client is connected.

MTU

The maximum transmission unit (in bytes) for the selected interface. Most of the fields in this dialog box only have values to display if the Mobility client is using DHCP to acquire its point of presence address.

You can release or renew the DHCP lease for a selected interface:

Release

Releases the current DHCP lease for the selected interface. This button is available only if you have administrative privileges on the client device. You cannot manually release the DHCP lease for the NetMotion Virtual Network Adapter installed by Mobility.

Renew

Renews the DHCP lease for the selected interface. This button is available only if you have administrative privileges on the client device. You cannot manually renew the DHCP lease for the NetMotion Virtual Network Adapter installed by Mobility.
